What is Activate Broward?

Activate Broward is part of the national YMCA initiative Activate America which encourages physical activity and healthy lifestyles. As facilitators of this program YMCA staff will encourage participation through this wellness incentive program to reward and recognize YMCA members and corporate and community partners. This program lasts the whole month of October and will encourage camaraderie within our YMCA, community, and local businesses.

Objective:
To recruit and enroll 4,000 or more participants throughout Broward County using pedometers to collectively reach the goal of tracking 10,000 steps a day, which equates to four miles.

All participants will receive:

• A  FREE Activate Broward Starter Kit
• Registration form
• Pedometer
• Tracking foot form
• Activity – to – Steps conversion chart
• Goal setting information
•  Weekly e-mails to recognize reward and reinforce positive behaviors
• WellNews, monthly newsletter from the YMCA
